Meet Lee & Karen Edwards

Karen is an “Army Brat” who was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and Lee is an actual native Floridian. Their roots are truly Southern as this is the region of their childhood. They have a love for the South but have made Bozrah their home for the past 20 years. They love their Auburn University Tigers. Their wardrobe consists of many items that are orange and blue. You will hear War Eagle expressed quite frequently. They love to ski and have adopted Cannon Mountain and Bretton Woods in NH as their primary ski destinations. They have two sons, Phil and Michael. Phil lives in Norwich, and Michael is in the Army stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC.

Lee and Karen met while Lee was stationed at Fort Knox, KY. They both finished their undergraduate degrees at Auburn University in Auburn, AL, and Karen went on to get her Masters of Education at Auburn. While in school at Auburn in 1977, they got married, and one year later moved to Fort Worth, TX in order for Lee to pursue his Masters of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Upon Lee’s graduation, they began to serve churches in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama before the Holy Spirit led them to Bozrah Church in Bozrah, CT.

Lee, Karen, Phil and Michael have been BCCC’s Pastoral Family for the past 20 years, and they are excited to see what God is going to continue to do at BCCC. Their focus of ministry is to provide a place where the whole family is included in worship, nurtured in growth, and unconditionally loved. They are actively involved in all areas of ministry of the church (Children, Student, Single Adult, Adult, and Senior Adult). They believe that every age group should be involved in the ministry and mission of the church.

Many people have influenced their approach to ministry. They live by the principle they learned at Auburn in their Navigator Campus Group…“To know Christ and to make Him known”. They have been molded by serving with some of the most spiritual men and women possible. They live by the great lessons of faith and life that they learned from Karen’s parents, Tom and Pug Fluker. They have grown through the unconditional love and support of our amazing church family at BCCC.

Come meet our Pastoral Family. They are always welcoming and available. Join them for a cup of coffee, a bottle of Coca Cola, or just a fun time of conversation. They like to talk. You might enjoy hearing their stories about the South especially in their southern accent (which they still have after all these years). Just know that they are fanatical about sports (all Auburn, all Atlanta, all the time), crazy about skiing, passionate about life, and blown away by the love of God.
